Handing over of newly constructed class room buildings aided by the Government of India in Northern Province.

As part of Government of India’s initiatives towards development of education in the Northern Province, LKR 250 Million was allocated for construction of class room buildings in 27 schools in the Northern Province. Of these 27 schools, construction of class room buildings in four schools were completed and handed over last week.

 

2.      In continuation of these initiatives, school buildings in four more schools  in the Mannar District, viz., Mannar / Palaikuly Government Muslim Mix School, Mannar / Potkerny Government Muslim Mix School, Mannar / Ilanthaimoddai Government Muslim Mix School and Thadchanamaruthamadhu Government Tamil Mix School built at a cost of about 7 million, 6.9 million,12.7 million and 4 million each respectively were inaugurated jointly by  Consul General of India Mr.S.Balachandran and Dr.K.Sarveswaran, Hon’ble Education Minister of Northern Province on 09 July 2018.

 

3.      Education authorities, School Principals, teachers, staff members, students, parents and well-wishers attended the ceremonies, which were marked by cultural programmes. The Hon’ble Education Minister and other speakers thanked India for its assistance towards development of education in the Northern Province.
