The Consulate General of India, Jaffna celebrated the 73rd Independence Day of India on 15th August, 2019 with Consul General Balachandran hoisting the Indian National flag at the Consulate in the presence of Consulate officials, Indian citizens, Persons of Indian Origin and friends of India, among others. The Consul General also read out the President’s Address to the Nation on the eve of 73rd Independence Day.
2. The Consulate organised a Reception in the evening at Northgate by Jetwing Hotel. Dr.Parimal Ashok Padke and Group performed bharatanatyam dances at the Reception. Mr.C.V.K.Sivagnanam, NPC Chairman exchanged a toast with the Consul General. Over 150 dignitaries including former Chief Minister Justice Wigneswaran, Hon’ble Members of Parliament Mavai Senathirajah, M.A.Sumanthiran, Sitharthan, political leaders, former NPC members, Chief Secretary, District Government Agents, Secretaries of Ministries, Dr.Ratnajeevan Hoole, Election Commission Member, Senior officers of the tri-services, police forces, senior officials of NPC attended the Reception.
