Celebration of the birth anniversary of India’s National Poet Mahakavi Subramania Bharathiyar

The Consulate General of India commemorated the 137th birth day of India’s national poet Mahakavi Subramania Bharathiyar today (11 December 2019).

Consul General Balachandran, NPC Chairman CVK Sivagnanam, Jaffna Mayor Emmanuel Arnold, Jaffna GA Vedanayahan, local dignitaries, students and the Consulate officials paid floral tributes at the statue of Bharathiyar located at Nallur. The students of the Music class of the India corner of the Consulate rendered some of the songs written by Bharathiyar.
