       Divine Ecstasy – II – 2013

 

            In 2012 coinciding with the Annual Nallur Temple Festival, the Consulate General of   India, Jaffna, and the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs & Sports, Northern Provincial Council, Jaffna with the support of the India Sri Lanka Foundation successfully organized Cultural Festival “Divine Ecstasy” (Theiveega Suga Anubhavam) by involving students from schools and Ramanathan Academy of fine Arts (RAFA), University of Jaffna and teachers in the planning, preparation and execution of the Festival.  The aim to organize such a Cultural Festival was to provide a platform to students for interaction and environment conducive for learning and also much needed inspiration from the great artistes for charting a better future for students in their career of fine arts.

 

            This year, Cultural Festival “Divine Ecstasy – II” is scheduled to be held in Jaffna from 4-6 September, 2013.  Renowned vocalist Mrs. Sudha Raghunathan, Bharatnatyam exponent Ms. Leela Samson, Carnatic Classical vocalist Mr. T. M. Krishna and Aridwaramangalam Sri A.K. Palanivel – Thavil specialist will perform and organise workshops for the students in Jaffna and all those interested in Indian classical vocal music and dance.  In each workshop students from different schools in the Northern Province, Ramanathan Academy of Fine Arts and teachers of University of Jaffna would be participating.  Given below are the details of the cultural programmes and workshops.   Svanubhava, Chennai would be providing necessary guidance and support in forging and executing the concept for the three day Festival this year also.
