Blood Donation Camp at Consulate General of India, Jaffna to celebrate India 75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

1. India@75 - an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of her people, culture and achievements, commenced at the Consulate General of India, Jaffna on 12th March. India’s 75th Anniversary of Independence is being celebrated over 75 weeks prior to 15 August 2022 and scheduled to continue till a year later. As a part of the celebrations, the Consulate General of India, Jaffna, and Jaffna Teaching Hospital jointly organised a Blood Donation Camp at the Chancery premises on World Health Day i.e. 07th April, 2021 with 13 officials voluntarily donating blood. The programme began with the screening of a video on India@75. Chief Guest Dr. S.Sribavanandarajah, Acting Director, Jaffna Teaching Hospital addressed the gathering and appreciated that this was the first time in the history of Jaffna Teaching Hospital that foreigners were donating blood. This gesture from the Indian Consulate would further strengthen the umbilical cord relationship between India and Sri Lanka.
