Exhibition on "Life and Works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel"

1. As part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Consulate General of India, Jaffna coinciding with the National Unity Day to commemorate the 146th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, organized a Photo Exhibition on “life and works of Sardar Patel” this evening from 29-31 October, 2021.

2. The photo exhibition was jointly inaugurated by Hon’ble Consul General Raakesh Natraj and Hon’ble Chairman of Northern Provincial Council, C.V.K Sivagnanam. Mrs. Sujeeva Sivathas, Director (Culture), Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs, Consulate officials, officials & patrons of the Library and children from the schools of Jaffna attended the event following COVID- 19 guidelines.

3. Earlier, the Consulate in association with the Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Sports and Youth Affairs of the Northern Provincial Council, conducted an quiz competition on India’s independence among school students of Jaffna district on 28th Oct, 2021. Today, Consul General, NPC Chairman & Director (Culture) gave away the cash prizes to the winners as part of the celebrations. The winners declared by Ministry of Education are:
