Re-issuance of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards

1. In continuation of Ministry's OM no 2601/MISC/181/2019-OCI dated 16th April, 2021 which stipulates that an OCI Cardholder shall have to get the OCI Card re-issued once a new passport is issued after completing 20 years of age, the Government of India has decided to further grant extension of time till 31.12.2022 to all eligible foreigners to get their OCI Cards re-issued.

2. It has also been decided that, subject to MHA's extant guidelines regarding entry of OCI Cardholders in India, such OCI Cardholders will be allowed to travel on the strength of their existing OCI Cards bearing old passport number subject to the condition that the OCI Cardholder will have to travel along with new passport.
