Distribution of rice and milk powder under AKSHAYPATRA, humanitarian assistance program of Government of India in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka:

1.As part of AKSHAYAPATRA distribution programme providing assistance to the people of the Northern Province of Sri Lanka to address their necessities, Hon'ble Raakesh Natraj, Consul General, in the presence of Mr K. Mahesan, GA Jaffna, distributed 10,00,000 kgs of rice and 7500 packets of milk powder meant for Jaffna today. This assistance will benefit close to 1,00,000 families in Jaffna district alone covering half the households in the district. As part of this Indian assistance, thousands of families belonging to low income groups as well as pregnant mothers will benefit. This is part of Government of Tamil Nadu's assistance to the people of Sri Lanka, comprising 40,000 MT of rice and 500 MT of milk powder, which will be distributed across the island shortly.
